The newly appointed Provost of the College of Art and Built Environment (CABE) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Christian Koranteng, has lauded the cordial working relationship between himself and his predecessor, Professor John Tia Bugri.
“When issues come, we discuss and find a way through,” he said, expressing appreciation for the former Provost’s guidance and support. “In terms of work done, I would like to appreciate my boss. We pray the Good Lord helps us so we accomplish the same. We are looking into the future knowing that all things will be achieved.”
At a handing over ceremony, Professor Koranteng hinted at plans to embark on departmental visits to acquaint himself with ongoing activities and to share his vision for the College.
“The idea is to visit every department, interact with staff, get to know their issues better, and understand each other. At least we can dialogue and share the vision,” he stated.
He also expressed his delight at the presence of Professor Tia Bugri, noting that his continued support and advice would be invaluable to the College’s progress.
In response, Professor Tia Bugri pledged his full support to his successor and encouraged the College community to rally behind him.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Samuel Asare-Nkansah, advised the new Provost to remain focused and steadfast in delivering his mandate.
Also present at the brief ceremony were the College Registrar, Mr. Anthony Adjapong, and Reverend (Professor) Victor Kwesi Quagraine.
